iDeas

To use a wiki in student projects has been shown beneficial to both students and teachers. This page presents results from the project and gives you access to download and use the iDeas wiki, which is specially designed to give the best possible support for collaboration and awareness while working with a project. The wiki has support to visualize the users activities, and has software to support gathering of image-, video-, sound- and textnotes in a mobile phone during fieldstudies.



iDeas is a project where a wiki has been used to study what possible use and effect a collaborative platform in a student project may have. The project has been conducted through followoing studnents that through practical experinces is learning ethnography, a genre of writing hard to teach in a classroom environment. During the student projects all students were given access to all material that was uploaded or created on the wiki, and since they could follow each others development through out the course the studnets got a wider insight on how data gathered could be described, documented and analysed. Another effekt was that the teacher got a bigger understanding of the studnets work since they also could follow the studnets on the wiki. The wiki has gradually evolved to better support group projects, and a mobile application has also been developed to support the students work outside the university. Through this page we give access to the results and software that the project has produced.

iDeas is an interplay between IT-University in Göteborg and Stanford University, and is funded by Wallenberg Global Learning Network (WGLN). The project regards to find solutions for collaborative workspaces and mobile IT-support for group projects in educaton on advanced level. This page presents the subprojects and the final product that this project has developed in.
